Today was cold but the wind was calm and the sun was shining, so we took Dove and Celine to the empty campground at Lake Odessa. I am terrified of falling through ice, but the lake is shallow, we have had weeks of cold, and I stayed within ten feet of shore at all times! There were a few tracks from sleds that people used to go ice fishing, but no one was out today on the ice. I think that this was about the happiest that I have ever seen Dove, who is a normally jovial, fun loving girl. She had a blast rolling on the ice, and even got a few running starts so she could throw herself sideways and go sliding. I thought that I took more videos, but it looks like I captured her silly antics in just this one. Celine also had a good time, but wasn't as crazy about the slippery surface, and she gets cold faster than Dove. We'll bring along Prins and Dove next week, as he likes the deep cold as much as Dove and I think they will have a splendid time playing on the frozen lake.
